An automated accessibility scan of https://papermini.arkanatools.com found violations that make the tool hard or impossible to use with a screen reader.

Scan details: axe-core 4.11.4, Chrome 151, run 2026-08-23 at both desktop and mobile viewports. Numbers in brackets are element counts and were identical at both viewports.

Critical

  • button-name (1) — Buttons must have discernible text. The offending node is <button class="delete"></button>; a screen reader announces only "button", so there is no way to tell what it does.
  • image-alt (1) — Images must have alternative text: <img src="./images/PMC_Logo.svg">.
  • aria-allowed-attr (2) — Elements must only use supported ARIA attributes.

Serious

  • role-img-alt (5) — [role="img"] elements must have alternative text.
  • color-contrast (2) — Elements must meet minimum colour contrast ratio thresholds.

Moderate

  • region (4) — All page content should be contained by landmarks.
  • landmark-one-main (1) — Document should have one main landmark.
  • page-has-heading-one (1) — Page should contain a level-one heading.

Likely shared root cause

Most offending nodes are Ionic-generated icons of the form <ion-icon name="..." role="img" class="md hydrated"></ion-icon>. These carry role="img" with no accessible name, which appears to drive the bulk of role-img-alt and probably aria-allowed-attr too. The Paper Map Generator has the same pattern at larger scale (see its own report), so changing how icons are rendered once would likely clear most violations on both tools in a single change.

For reference, the roadmap tool and the JS docs were also scanned and came back clean (0 critical, 1 serious each).
